Graham Mendelowitz

Graham Mendelowitz 
Managing Director

Graham Mendelowitz is a founding shareholder and Director of MKM since its establishment in 2004. 

In his capacity as Joint Managing Director he is responsible for working with the Board to establish the strategic direction of the business and directing the Leadership to implement that strategy. 

Prior to starting MKM, Graham’s previous 20 years’ experience was in financial services, primarily in funds management and private equity both in Australia and abroad. 

Graham has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Cape Town, is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (UK), and is a member of the Australian Society of CPA’s and Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Mervyn Kark 
Managing Director

Mervyn Kark is a founding shareholder and Director of MKM since its establishment in 2004. 

In his capacity as Joint Managing Director he is responsible for working with the Board to establish the strategic direction of the business and directing the Leadership to implement that strategy. 

Prior to Joining MKM Mervyn worked in the pharmaceutical industry in South Africa owning a pharmaceutical wholesaler responsible for the supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals into the disenfranchised areas of southern Africa, operated that business until his emigration to Australia from South Africa 1999.

As part of a visa requirement owned, set up and operated an Automatic Teller machine business (ATM Solutions) which was purchased 2004 by Bank of Queensland as part of their foray from a regional to national bank.

Since 2004 to date has worked in the residential mortgage space under the MKM Banner.

Mervyn has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.  

Michael Mendelowitz 
Director

 

Michael Mendelowitz is a founding shareholder and Director of MKM since its establishment in 2004.

Michael co-founded Stratvest in South Africa in 1995. In 1997, African Bank acquired 50% of Stratvest leading to the formation of Nisela Growth Investments.

Michael assumed an executive role at African Bank Limited and held the position of joint CEO of Nisela Growth Investments until 2002.

He went on to acquire and grow the group of companies that in 2007 became the foundation of Transaction Capital and was appointed as an Executive Director in December 2011.

Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Hons) and Graduate Diploma Accounting from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

Colin Richardson

Colin Richardson
Director

Colin Richardson is a Managing Director of Moelis Australia in Corporate Finance.

Colin is a financial institutions group specialist and has over 30 years’ financial and investment experience.

Colin has experience on a wide range of domestic and international transactions including buy-side M&A, sell-side M&A, cross-border M&A, debt offerings, equity offerings, restructurings, recapitalisations and leveraged buyouts.

Colin was previously a Managing Director at Rothschild in their FIG division, was head of M&A at Citigroup for Australia and New Zealand and a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank.

Colin holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hull University.

Drew Bowie

Drew Bowie 
Director 

Drew Bowie is a Managing Director at Moelis Australia in Asset Management.

Drew is a credit asset management specialist and has over 25 years’ experience in real estate credit, portfolio management and capital market experience across multiple asset classes.

He has successfully completed an extensive array of development and investment portfolio finance facilities, incorporating senior and structured credit and equity participations for both in bank and non-bank institutions.

Drew was previously responsible for deal origination and portfolio management at MaxCap Group, Pepper Group, RBS and Macquarie Bank. 

Drew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Law), Associate Diploma Business (Property Valuation), is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and is a Certified Practicing Valuer.

Frank Danieli
Director

Frank Danieli is Managing Director, Principal Investments and Credit at Moelis Australia.

He was previously an Executive Director in Corporate Advisory at Moelis Australia over an 8-year period, where he focused on special situations, M&A and financial services transactions. His transaction experience includes Alinta Energy, Billabong, Boart Longyear, Ten Network, GE Capital Consumer A&NZ (now Latitude), HomeStart lending platform, SA Government CTP / Berkshire Hathaway reinsurance deal, Axsesstoday restructure, Slater & Gordon restructure, Blue Sky recapitalisation, Emeco / Orionstone / Andy’s three-way merger and recap, and Reliance Rail.

Frank previously worked as a corporate strategy consultant at Pottinger and worked in funds management at Challenger.

He holds a Commerce / Law (First Class Honours) degree from Sydney University.
